AP Flood: Eleru flood surge – 25 thousand acres under water Due to heavy rains, the Eleru flood is continuing in Gollaprolu, Pithapuram, Kothapalli, and Kirlampudi mandals. 25,000 acres have been submerged due to the flood surge. Eleru and other related crop canals were damaged in more than ten places. Eleru flood water has entered Markandeyapuram in Patnam. Additionally, the flood water is flowing on the R&B main road in the suburb of Gollaprolu town, and has entered the groundnut mill in the same town. Heavy flood water is also flowing on the roads leading to Gollaprolu Jagananna Colony Surampet.
Meanwhile, due to the heavy rains caused by the severe cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, Uttar Andhra was heavily impacted. From Saturday afternoon to Monday morning, there were heavy to very heavy rains in many places in Uttarandhra districts, causing rivers, streams, and banks to flow rapidly. The water level in the reservoirs has reached its maximum capacity. At Balimela Dam, 30 centimeters of rainfall was recorded from Sunday morning to Monday morning.
Additionally, 14 cm of rainfall in Govindapuram (Poosapatirega mandal of Vijayanagaram district), 13 cm in Krishnadevipet (Golugonda mandal of Anakapalli district), Chintapalli (Alluri district), 12 cm in Munchangiputtu (Alluri district), Pedanadipalli (Cheepurupally), Kakarapadu (Koyyur mandal of Alluri district), and 11 cm in Ranasthalam. Pusapatirega, Bhimili, Bondapalli, Balighattam received 10 cm of rainfall, whereas Merakamudidam, Cheepurupalli, Visakhapatnam, Garividi, Gamparai, Narsipatnam, and S. Rayavaram recorded 9 cm of rainfall.
