The Andhra Pradesh High Court has denied anticipatory bail to Vijay Paul, the investigating officer implicated in allegations of using third-degree methods against former Narasapuram MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju. The court delivered its verdict following an inquiry on Tuesday. Raghurama Krishnam Raju has accused Vijay Paul of employing coercive tactics during his custody in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
In response to these allegations, Raghurama lodged a formal complaint in Guntur, prompting local police to register a case against the officials involved. In his plea for anticipatory bail, Vijay Paul cited his innocence, with arguments presented by a legal team including Supreme Court counsel Siddhartha Luthra and public prosecutor Lakshminarayana. On the other hand, advocate Umesh Chandra represented Raghurama Krishnam Raju, asserting the seriousness of the allegations against the investigating officer.
