Another low pressure in Bay of Bengal is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rain to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana once again. The Telugu states have already experienced heavy rains and floods, which have disrupted people’s lives. Now, they are facing additional trouble as the Meteorological center has forecasted heavy to very heavy rains in the coming days. The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has warned that heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur in Telangana state due to a low pressure system and monsoon trough.
Heavy and very heavy rains have been forecasted for September 5, with the possibility of heavy rains continuing until September 10. Additionally, torrential rains may occur across Telangana for up to 5 days, particularly in the North and North-Eastern districts. Last night, heavy rainfall was recorded in several districts, with the highest rainfall recorded in Siddipet district at 17 cm, followed by Nizamabad district at 13 cm, and Asifabad, Manchiryala, and Medchal Malkajigiri districts at 7 cm each. Another low pressure system is expected to form in the Bay of Bengal soon, with the monsoon trough currently moving from Ramagundam to Kalingapatnam in Telangana.
The ongoing surface circulation along the Coastal Andhra coast is likely to intensify into a low pressure system, potentially leading to heavy and very heavy rains in the state, according to an official from the Hyderabad Meteorological Centre. A “Yellow Alert” has been issued for several districts, with heavy to very heavy rain expected. In addition, light to moderate rain is forecasted for Hyderabad, while heavy rain is expected for Mahabubabad, Khammam, Suryapet, and Bhadrachalam districts. On the second day, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in the North-East districts, and heavy rains are forecasted to fall across the state for the next 5 days.
The Cyclone Warning Center in Visakhapatnam has indicated that a low pressure system is likely to form in the Bay of Bengal, leading to heavy rains in North Andhra for four days. As a result, Palnadu, Eluru, and NTR districts have been placed under an “Orange Alert,” with moderate to heavy rains expected in the coastal districts, and a “Yellow Alert” issued for several other districts. Additionally, the sea is rough, and fishermen have been advised not to venture out for the next three days, according to the Visakha Cyclone Warning Center.
