Srisatya Sai District: Shamir Bhasha, a prominent follower of former Kadiri MLA Attar Chand Bhasha, has been arrested. The police apprehended him in connection with a case involving the encroachment of government lands. During the arrest, authorities seized ten key documents, including 301 stolen land titles, 168 photocopied stolen land titles, and 32 passbooks belonging to land title holders.

Shamir Bhasha was presented before the Anantapur Special Court. Revenue Inspector Munwar, who allegedly facilitated the encroachment, along with two other YCP leaders, are currently on the run. It is believed that Shamir Bhasha, with the involvement of former MLA Attar Chand Bhasha, seized government lands and collected a significant amount of money from the public, issuing fraudulent land titles in return.

Several key YCP leaders implicated in land grabbing and irregularities in the Kadiri constituency have also gone into hiding. On the 13th of last month, the Municipal Commissioner filed a complaint against Shamir Bhasha for allegedly seizing government land within the Kadiri Municipality. Following this, the police initiated an investigation and filed charges against Shamir Bhasha, Revenue Inspector Munwar Bhasha, and other YCP leaders under various regulations. Upon discovering this information, some YCP leaders fled, while others went into hiding. Meanwhile, Shamir Bhasha was arrested and interrogated by the police on Sunday, during which a large number of fake house titles and passbooks were found at his residence.

During the previous YCP government’s tenure, there were widespread allegations against YCP leaders for engaging in land irregularities by fabricating fake house titles and passbooks, aided by RI Munwar Bhasha. The Municipal Commissioner has formally lodged a complaint stating that YSRCP leaders seized lands worth crores of rupees in Kadiri town and created fraudulent pattas to acquire government property. The police have registered a case and are taking appropriate action.
