Tulasi Reddy Criticizes Deputy CM Demand for Nara Lokesh
Political discussions in Andhra Pradesh intensified as some TDP leaders demanded the Deputy Chief Minister position for Nara Lokesh, while certain Jana Sena members expressed their desire to see Pawan Kalyan as Chief Minister. Amid this escalating debate, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has reportedly used the issue for political advantage. In response, the TDP leadership issued strict instructions barring its members from commenting on the matter.
Amid this backdrop, Andhra Pradesh Congress spokesperson Tulasi Reddy made critical remarks about the Deputy Chief Minister post. He referred to a statement made by former President Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, who reportedly said the position offers no tangible benefits, likening it to an illusionary incentive. Tulasi Reddy called the demand for Nara Lokesh to be appointed as Deputy CM "laughable," adding that the role lacks protocol, additional powers, or specific rights.
Tulasi Reddy further argued that if TDP leaders truly believed in Lokesh's capabilities or had genuine affection for him, they should push for him to be named Chief Minister instead. Alternatively, if they see Lokesh as a rival to Pawan Kalyan, they should withdraw their support for Pawan as Deputy CM, he commented.
