AP Intermediate Exams : The CBSE syllabus will be implemented in the Intermediate exams starting next year :Intermediate Education Board

The Andhra Pradesh Intermediate Board is planning to implement significant changes to the Intermediate education system. During a media conference on Wednesday, Inter Board Secretary Kritika Shukla outlined important details about these reforms, which will align with the National Education Policy.

The State Inter Board is preparing for significant reforms in Intermediate education. During a media conference on Wednesday, January 8, Inter Board Secretary Kritika Shukla announced that several proposals are being developed for this purpose. She stated that the reforms will align with the National Education Policy of 2020.

Currently, NCERT lessons are taught in school education under the CBSE system, and this academic year marks the switch to the tenth-grade system by CBSE. Kritika Shukla revealed that the NCERT syllabus will be introduced in Intermediate education starting from the next academic year. She mentioned that there are proposals to cancel public examinations in the first year of Intermediate and replace them with regular annual examinations.

Kritika Shukla highlighted that there haven't been any reforms in Intermediate education for many years. The forthcoming changes will impact Science, Arts, and Language subjects, in accordance with the National Education Policy. NCERT textbooks are set to be introduced in the tenth grade starting in the 2024-25 academic year, and in the first year of Intermediate in the 2025-26 academic year. This transition aims to facilitate preparation for national-level competitive exams like NEET and JEE.

Looking at a national context, NCERT textbooks have already been adopted in Intermediate education in 15 states, while Intermediate public examinations are being conducted in the Telugu states. Only secondary examinations are held in these regions. The Secretary expressed optimism that these changes will help reduce the pressure on students.

First-year examinations will be conducted internally, and the CBSE syllabus will be implemented in Intermediate education from the 2025-26 academic year.

Additionally, internal assessments and practicals will become mandatory in every subject according to the new draft. Kritika Shukla encouraged students, parents, and educators to provide suggestions and feedback on these issues. Recommendations can be submitted via the Board of Intermediate website by January 26, or sent to [email protected].
