Rains Expected in Rayalaseema and South Coast on the 11th

Amaravati: The low pressure system formed in the southeast Bay of Bengal remains stable and is expected to continue until Sunday. Surrounded by a surface circulation, it will move in a west-northwest direction and strengthen into a severe low pressure by Monday.

This system will then continue moving west-northwest and enter the southwest Bay of Bengal by the 11th of this month, close to the coasts of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu. As a result, widespread rainfall is anticipated in Rayalaseema and several areas along the south coast on the 11th, according to the Meteorological Department.

Meanwhile, clouds covered most parts of the coast and Rayalaseema on Sunday, leading to scattered rainfall. The Meteorological Department has indicated that light to moderate rains will occur across the state in the next 24 hours.

*CM Calls for Precautions for Rice Growers*

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to take immediate action to prevent rice from getting wet in the fields due to the expected heavy rains from the low pressure system. On Sunday night, the Chief Minister ordered collectors and Joint Collectors to alert rice growers to postpone paddy harvesting.

Additionally, arrangements should be made to quickly transport any threshed paddy to rice mills. He instructed that tarpaulin sheets be distributed to protect paddy heaps from moisture in necessary areas. The Agriculture Department has been directed to ensure that farmers take all necessary precautions until the rains subside.
