Amaravati: The political meetings turned out to be painful to the public across Andhra Pradesh. Especially the meetings of YSR Congress are causing troublesome to people in general and commuters in particular. The police and other government departments are giving utmost priority for their meetings. As a result, the common people do not have a chance to avoid hardships.
For instance, the meeting which was held on Sunday is a glaring example for the situation. As per sources, the RTC allotted almost 3,500 buses for bringing people to the meeting. As a result, the passengers of Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam districts had to bear the brunt facing painful incidents on the way to reach their destination. Thousands of passengers were forced to halt midway at bus stations and on the road margins in the limits of three districts.
Moreover, the students who were returning to college after enjoying a holiday from their homes faced a lot of troubles. On the other hand, there is a huge rush on roads with passengers on the national highway stretching from Guntur to surrounding areas of Ongole.
One senior journalist, who reached Chennai from Vijayawada on Sunday, said that they have also faced challenging situations to cross the nearby particular meeting area. “The entire road was blocked from the meeting,” he said and requested the political parties to think once again about their plans before conducting such meetings which cause inconvenience to the public.
However, the people of the state may face more troubles in the coming next 45 days when the elections are approaching fast. Both the Telugu Desam and Jana Sena are planning to conduct public meetings with huge crowds. The police and other government departments should give a master plan to smoothly conduct the meetings. Especially, the police department is blocking roads well before the arrival of the CM’s convoy at many places. The situation is creating hardships to the public, especially commuters across the state.
