Pawan Kalyan Must Uphold His Promise: Hari Rama Jogaiah
Chegondi Hari Rama Jogaiah, former minister and president of the Kapu Welfare Sena, has urged the implementation of a 5% reservation for the Kapu community under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota. He addressed a letter to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, reiterating the demand. Hari Rama Jogaiah reminded that the previous TDP government had introduced a 5% reservation for Kapus under the EWS quota.
However, he alleged that the succeeding YSRCP government acted vindictively against the Kapu community by failing to implement this reservation. He pointed out that the Kapu Welfare Sena had approached the High Court, seeking the enforcement of the 5% reservation, but the YSRCP government raised objections and explicitly stated its inability to implement the quota.
He appealed to the current coalition government to submit a revised counter-affidavit in the High Court supporting the 5% reservation for Kapus. Hari Rama Jogaiah disclosed that during the High Court hearing on December 4, the Advocate General defended the stance of the previous government in favor of the reservation.
He added that the next hearing is scheduled for January 28, emphasizing the need for the coalition government to clarify its position on the matter by then. Hari Rama Jogaiah also urged Chandrababu Naidu to fulfill the promise of implementing the reservation he had introduced during his tenure. Additionally, he called on Pawan Kalyan to honor his previous commitment to work collaboratively on the Kapu reservation issue.
