A chilling incident of harassment and blackmail has come to light, where a young man allegedly threatened a female student, saying that if she did not reciprocate his feelings, he would inject her with AIDS.
The student, a B.Sc Nursing student, reported that she had been repeatedly harassed, blackmailed, and forced to give him money on multiple occasions. Cherukupalli Vijay Kumar, a young man from Nagarjuna Sagar, initially befriended the woman via Instagram. What began as an innocent online interaction soon turned into a nightmare for the student, as Kumar persistently harassed her, claiming he wanted to be her friend and later pressuring her under the guise of love.
The victim revealed that he had threatened to expose photos taken during their time together. On November 11, while returning from college, the student was allegedly forcibly taken to a deserted area by Kumar, who raped her under the pretense of love. Over time, his threats escalated, with him calling her parents and threatening to kill them. He also reportedly chased the student daily and physically assaulted her.
The young woman, feeling unsafe and fearful for her and her family’s life, approached the Hayat Nagar police, detailing the harassment and threats she had endured. In her complaint, she also revealed that Kumar had previously blackmailed other women, and a case had been registered against him in Nagarjuna Sagar.
