Tensions escalated in Pedda Dandluru, Jammalamadugu mandal, as a fierce clash erupted between factions of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The violence, sparked by an ongoing land dispute, left seven individuals seriously injured, with two in critical condition.
The conflict arose between supporters of YSRCP MLC Ramasubba Reddy and BJP MLA Adinarayana Reddy. Despite previous attempts by local party leaders to mediate the dispute, unresolved tensions resurfaced, leading to a brutal confrontation involving axes and machetes.
Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as both sides engaged in a violent melee, resulting in a terrifying atmosphere for residents of Pedda Dandluru. The injured were swiftly transported to government hospitals in Jammalamadugu and Proddatur for treatment.
In response to the incident, MLC Ramasubba Reddy visited the hospital to check on the victims. He expressed frustration over the police’s inability to address the ongoing conflicts adequately, suggesting that inadequate law enforcement contributed to the recent outbreak of violence. Reddy criticized the police for their failure to prevent the situation from escalating, emphasizing the need for a more effective resolution to prevent future clashes.
