The Government of Andhra Pradesh has initiated the skill census pilot project in Mangalagiri constituency, with the objective of identifying and nurturing the skills of the State’s youth. The project is designed to provide targeted skill development, thereby enhancing job opportunities for the local population.
The pilot project will be conducted across Mangalagiri Assembly Constituency and Tullur Mandal, covering a total of 1,61,421 families. This includes 1,35,914 households in Mangalagiri constituency and 25,507 households in Tullur mandal. A total of 675 enumerators will be deployed to carry out the census, using a mobile application for efficient data collection. The enumerators will be supported by technical teams during the process.
The initiative will be closely monitored by officials from the Skill Development Headquarters, who will identify and rectify any issues encountered during the pilot phase. Based on the insights and improvements from the Mangalagiri pilot, the Skill Census will be rolled out across the entire State. Participating in this effort are staff from Village Secretariats, the Skill Development Department, the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development of Andhra Pradesh (CEDAP), and the National Academy of Construction (NAC).
These departments will collaborate to ensure the success of the program and contribute to creating a more skilled workforce for Andhra Pradesh.
