Amaravati to host “Nari Shakti Utsavam” for Dussehra celebrations

 In celebration of Dussehra Sharannavaratri, the State Tourism Department is organizing the prestigious “Nari Shakti Utsavam” from October 11 to 13 at Babburi Ground near Punnami Ghat in Vijayawada. Tourism managing director M Abhishikt Kishore announced that the event will honor remarkable women from various fields with special awards.

Kandula Durgesh, minister of Tourism, Culture and Cinematography, received invitation for the event. The three-day festival will feature speeches, Maha Harati, and a variety of cultural programs, including folk dances and art performances such as Kolatam, Dappu, and Tappeta Gullu. Attendees can also enjoy handicrafts exhibitions, a food festival showcasing national and international cuisines, and a Golu (bommala koluvu) reflecting the spirit of Nava Durga.

The program will include a drone show and other activities designed to highlight the history and spirituality of the Kanakadurga goddess, enhancing the significance of the Dussehra celebrations. The event is expected to attract the wives of chief ministers from Andhra and Telangana, women ministers, public representatives, and senior officials from various services.
