PCC President YS Sharmila has called for the selection of candidates at a ratio of 1:100 for the Andhra Pradesh Group 1 Mains Exams. Sharmila expressed concern over the three-week gap between the APPSC Group 2 and Group 1 exams, stating that candidates are worried. He appealed to the government to consider the situation and ensure fairness in the selection process.
Many individuals have been urging the selection of candidates at a 1:100 ratio in the preliminary examination for APPSC Group 1, allowing more candidates to proceed to the mains. However, the commission has confirmed that the mains exams will take place from September 2 to 9. Despite approaching exam dates, the commission has not responded to the candidates’ appeals.
On March 17, the preliminary examination for APPSC Group 1 took place in 301 examination centers across 18 districts in the state. The results were published on April 12. Out of 1,48,881 applicants, 1,26,068 downloaded their hall tickets, and 91,463 candidates took the exam. However, only 4,496 candidates, at a 1:50 ratio, qualified for the mains. The commission released the results just 24 days after the exam. This recruitment process aims to fill all 81 Group 1 posts.
