SGF NTR district secretary Srinivasa Rao says around 1,000 players and officials will participate in this tourney
The School Games Federation of India (SGFI), NTR District Unit Secretary M Srinivasa Rao and ZPH School, Nunna headmaster Vazrla Bhupal Reddy said that the 68th School Games AP Inter District Wrestling (U-14 & 19 Boys and Girls Free Style, U-17 & 19 Boys Greco Roman) Tournament will be conducted by the Zilla Parishath High School, Nunna of Vijayawada Rural Mandal from October 3 to 5. The three-day competitions would be held at the Ashoka Function Hall near Sai Baba temple, they said.
SGF NTR District (U-14&17) and Krishna District (U-19) units are conducting the tournament. As many as 1,000 Wrestling Players, coaches, Managers and Technical officials are participating in this tournament. The erstwhile Krishna district is conducting the Inter District Wrestling Tournament 8th time consecutively.
In this connection, SGF NTR District Secretary Srinivasa Rao along with ZPH School, Nunna Head Master Vazrala Bhupal Reddy issued a press release here on Tuesday. They said that under the auspicious of the School Education Department, Samagra Siksha and Andhra Pradesh School Games Federation, the SGF, NTR district is hosting the tournament.
Further, they stated that the inaugural function would be chaired by the Gannavaram MLA Yarlagadda Venkata Rao at the Ashoka Function Hall, and Minister for Mines & Geology and Excise Kollu Ravindra would inaugurate the tournament. Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Bala Shoury, School Education Department Director V Vijaya Rama Raju, Samagra Siksha State Project Director B Srinivasa Rao, NTR District Collector Dr G Srijana, DSEO UV Subba Rao and others would be graced the function, they added.
They said that after the completion of the tournament, Andhra Pradesh State teams would be selected to take part in the SGFI Nationals. During the three-day tournament, free boarding and lodging would be provided for all players and officials, they said.
