25 Indian billionaires gain Rs 82,000 crore in single day; Adani, Ambani see major boost

A significant rally in Indian stock markets on Friday led to a notable increase in the net worth of 23 out of the country’s 25 billionaires. The combined net gain amounted to $9.84 billion, or over Rs 82,000 crore, as reported by Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The market upturn resulted in substantial gains for investors and a significant rise in the wealth of company owners.

Notably, the net worth of Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani saw a substantial boost, with their combined wealth increasing by more than Rs 27,000 crore. Mukesh Ambani experienced a wealth increase of $1.37 billion, bringing his total net worth to $111 billion. He currently ranks as the 11th richest businessman globally.

Gautam Adani saw an increase of $1.85 billion, elevating his total net worth to $104 billion. Adani is now the 14th richest businessman in the world. Shahpur Mistry saw his net worth rise by $978 million, reaching $41.6 billion, placing him at 36th among the world’s richest.

Shiv Nadar’s wealth increased by $828 million, totaling $38.5 billion, ranking him 39th globally. Savitri Jindal’s net worth grew by $524 million, bringing her total to $32.9 billion and ranking her 50th. Azim Premji’s wealth rose by $906 million, making his total net worth $28.7 billion, positioning him 61st worldwide. Dilip Shanghvi saw an increase of $79.1 million, with his net worth reaching $28.6 billion, ranking him 63rd.
